077 - About books

re-read 05

Re-Read is a new second hand bookstore in Barcelona. I made a few first photos of it (here) but this is my favorite of them all. I'll take more really soon because I'm quite exited about the project.

* Also, I have a bit of a personal project for a book and I would like to know: what are your favorite films for portraits? Do you have references when taking them? Tips? thank you!

075 - A Pottery Workshop

A month ago, more or less, after having one of those colds that leave you completely dead at home for more than a week, I spent a saturday at a pottery workshop. I was really fuzzy and didn't control much of the camera settings so most of the pictures I took are too dark, but I quite like these.

More importantly, I enjoyed it so much. It was so so fun and it felt wonderful to *make* something with my hands and learn a few more things about pottery than those ashtrays we all made as kids; to top it all the people were wonderful and the place just lovely.

If you live in Barcelona and you want to learn a bit of pottery, check it out, really, Mily and Lola are really welcoming (even if you break things, but *don't* do it, just in case, it just sucks to realize it's your fault) and so engaging that you'll certainly enjoy yourself.

The Umbracle of the Parc de la Ciutadella is a fascinating place; but for some reason our clever goverment (note the sarcasm) has closed it. I would have loved to sneak inside, and looking at the people who were wandering around the building and peering through the wooden slats, I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

Enjoy your weekend, I'm going to eat strange onions and homemade (by me, the horrors) sauce and die of the cold in the countryside!

A room with a view.

When I started taking photos with my Zenit B I've discovered that my uncle was actually quite an enthusiast of analogue. I've been asking him lots of questions until finally, I've decided to ask him for one of his cameras, an Olympus OM10. I'm in love with it. I mean, the Zenit has a certain magic *something*, but this Olympus is soooo easy to use (hello photometer!) and it kind of gets what I want, or maybe is that I get how to better use it.

Do you have cameras with personalities too? XD

PS: Btw, if I have you in flickr... I'm so sorry for the photo dump, my internet acces has been spotty to say the least and I went a bit nuts.
