I'm a bit mad actually.

I bought a cheap and small camera from an ebay store that I actually trust, a lovely Olympus AF10 with flash that I planned to have always in my bag, and all the test rolls I've been trying with it were, apparently, "not exposed" (including the ones I took at Primavera Sound, which, grrrr).

The thing is that the lab I've been going for the negatives has been returning me quite a few of my rolls completely blurred and saying they were "not exposed" which, ok, if it happens once, not a problem, I might have made a mistake, but when it happens like 5 times and with different cameras... well, now something is going on.

I wasn't sure if the problem was the camera, the rolls I've been using, me, or them... so I decided to change labs, just in case. I went today for the negatives at the new place and they didn't have a single problem. What's more, they actually did a better job, even with the packaging and the storage. Once is not a pattern, I know, but, right now I think I'll work with them and see what happens.

084 - with the sun shining everything is turning yellow

These past days I've been waking terrified, with headaches from nerves and nightmares about leaving my work, my flat, etc, which makes me more determined to take that step. I find that when I'm scared the best way to get over it is to make something, so I really want to go to class today and work on my little print, and I'm itching to take my camera out, somewhere, anywhere, with someone to use as a model, I don't know, I want to *make* things...

Luckily this past weekend has been crazy fun, so I've been so tired that not even the usual nightmares are waking me up. Concerts, people, taking pictures, eating and drinking, and sun everywhere!

How's the sun going were you are?

083 - a visit to one of the botanic gardens

It's been a week of nasty and wet weather, so, mandatory pink flowers from a past beautiful day, to remind me (us) that it certainly is spring.

Playing with windows, light and the sky. While traveling on a bus. I love the road.

Small things and big ones. A fountain, the sky. What we see, the places we live in.

And working on changing things now that the new year is aproaching, because years of tai chi have taught me that change is the only constant in life.

My brother left Barcelona years ago and went to live up in the Pyrinees, in a really tiny village were, I think, live no more than 50 people. The sort-of-bigger village nearby his place is a strip of houses in a valley following a river (now there's a road too) with mountains behind, called Sort (wich means "luck" by the way). It's a *very* small place for someone from a city (when I say a strip I really mean a strip) but there's a lot of people around, and the mountains around are gorgeous.

A closed water irrigation system in a park and water lilys. Taken while in a picnic with friends, and were a japanese tourist and me went a bit nuts trying to catch the colors and hues of the greens and greys of the water.

Enjoy your weekend!

038 - Berlin IV

Man made.

I'm awfully unsure about this two pictures of Berlin (the last ones, btw), I must admit. I like the colors and their square-ness (is that even a word?), all straight lines. But the more I look at both, the more I doubt about how they turned out. Well, I promised myself to make a selection and learn from what I'm not satisfied with.

Prenzlauer Berg was my favorite discovery of Berlin (I think it was PY that had the idea to visist it), the kind of place I see myself living in. Quiet, green, old, lush, with rundown buildings that still have some shells or bullet holes, but that look beautifully lived in. I was surprised by the staggering amount of graffittis and tags the city has, they are everywhere.

Green everywhere, which I completely love in a city actually (and a bycicle.... I love these ducth brands but they are so expensive)

013 - on the road

IS055

I saw it from the bus and couldn't actually get out to gawk at it in awe, but I managed to take a picture from the window, small consolation, I know but at least it's something. I want to ride one of these someday.

001 - Iceland, Ísland, Islandia

IS001

IS002

I'm fascinated by northern climates and landscapes. Maybe because I'm from the south. Maybe because I love green. Maybe because I'm me.

I've already been in the North Pole circle, years ago, in Finland, but I don't have any of the photos or the videos we took there. I'm not a hoarder, if I haven't used a thing in a few years I give it or trash it. I also lose things and I'm quite bad at keeping a diary.

That's what this is all about, a record of sorts. An experiment, a desire, a wish.

I've already been way up north, I've already went to see Mr Klaus (he didn't have any oranges though), that's why I choose the country with ice in it's name this time. Did I learn anything? I'm not sure one travels to learn something, but I came back with, of this I'm sure, new colors in my eyes, new sun hues and a new air permeating my mind.

Close your eyes and breathe on this eyelash.
